People to get plots possession in E-12 Islamabad

A hope has arisen for hundreds of people allotted plots in Sector E-12 after 23 years as the Capital Development Authority has succeeded in resolving the issue of getting possession of land.

CDA has got possession of above 2500-kanal land in Bhekkar Akku, Bhekkar Fateh Bax and Sarri Sarral in Sector E-12/3, an official told The Post Friday. The official added CDA acquired land in 1985 to open a new sector while the civic agency allotted plots to citizens in 1988.

CDA maintained two lists –A and B — consisting of 1,935 affected people but, later, a Main Award designed to compensate them was taken up by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), which claimed that only 700 cases were genuine and the rest were bogus, said the official. However, he added, CDA prepared a Package Deal in 2006 and a court issued a verdict saying the Main Award would be taken back from NAB in three months.

He said CDA and local elders and notables, including Shaheen Khan of Golra, Javed Khan, Chaudhry Akbar, Ameen Khan, Muhammad Younas and Muhammad Shafeeh residents of Bhekkar Akku, the affected people, reached a deal to solve the matter under Package Deal 2006 and Main Award.

The official said that the affected people would be compensated with 138 sq-yards plots against 300 sq-ft buildup property (BUP) and 200 sq-yards plots against 500 sq-ft or above BUP. He said the civic agency had allocated plots for the affected people in sector I-14.

“However as per demands of the locals, the authority will also allot plots to the affected people in other sectors”, he said, adding that all the affected people would be compensated after scrutinising lists A and B.

The official said the authority also agreed to meet the demands of the people who were not included in the Main Award would also be compensated. The civic body would avoid any hindrance in development of the sector, he added.

The people allotted plots have been waiting for getting procession for the last 20 years despite spending heavy amount. The official said CDA Chairman Kamran Lashari called a meeting of Engineering Wing to chalk out the final strategy for executing development in the sector.

When contacted, EL-One Real Estate Company Managing Director Wakeel Ahmed said the sector comprised more then 4,000 plots measuring 111 sq-yards to 600 sq-yards. Though prices of plots varied in the sector, they ranged from Rs 1.5 million to Rs 8.5 million according to size and location, he said, adding that many plot owners used to come to him and other estate firms to sell their plots at sector E-12 as, according to him, they were despaired about its future. However, he added, since the authority started development in the sector, the owners would hold their plots.

Dear Techno

is there any hope in near future to get any good newa for E 12, I have been living abroad for so many years and now want to make my own house ASAP.

Also pls advise that CDA projects are safe or not, as I have not checked with CDA regarding the plot since few years.

I visited the Sector E-11 two weeks back. There is alot of development going on in that sectors but as far as I remember, I could not see any development in Sector E-12. Sector E-11 is at a greater height so one can see other sectors very easily. I will have to make a visit in the coming weeks to update the status.

I cycled to Sector D-12 last week. Unfortunately I have not seen any development work start in Sector E-12 at the moment. I will post the pix later.
