Sorry, I live abroad but I was in Rawalpindi during May 2008 when they started excavation work. The site is opposite of Army Hockey Stadium next to the church on Mall Road. During 2002 the FFCL Board of Director decided to construct their company HO. I saw a couple of construction pictures somewhere and will try to post those.
I started this thread so someone from the vicinity can update us about this project.

I saved two construction pictures into "My Pictures" Folder from another website but when I tried (many times) to post them as attachment a message popped up Error No file was selected for upload. I don't know what is wrong.

Pre-qualification of Interior Design Firms

Head Office Building for FFCL having covered area of 259,376 sqft is presently under construction at 156, The Mall Rawalpindi. The building has Ground 11 storeys with two basement car parks. For this building, pre-qualification of Interior Design Firms/Companies for furnishing of the interior (Interior Designing/Supply of office furniture) is to be done through following procedure:-

Well reputed firms/Companies having experience in providing interior design services for building projects, are invited to submit their pre-qualification applications for this project.

Preference will be given to those firms which possess in-house expertise in designing interior works well integrated with building services for projects especially hotels, commercial and office buildings/supply of furniture.

Application for pre-qualification along with company profile and details of past experience should be submitted in "Duplicate" in a sealed envelope marked as "pre-qualification of Interior Design Firms/Companies" to the undersign on or before December 10, 2008.

Pre-qualification documents can be purchased

for Rs. 1000/- (non-refundable) from the office of Civil Works Deptt, FFCL by 15th November, 2008.
Application received after due date will not be entertained. FFCL reserves the right to accept or reject any or all applications without assigning any reason whatsoever.

I noticed an unknown structure about 8 storeys plus last year, but i was driving so i could not stop in the traffic. Maybe it is that one. Try taking pix of the surrounding area also.

With respect to the pictures posted by KM, this above discription given by me was of some other mid-rise building very close to this project.
