Very beautiful! Although the design looks suspiciously like the Gugenheim Museum in NY... Still, I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THIS BECOME A REALITY VERY SOON!

Dats the same feeling I got when i saw it on the billboard. It a a copy of Gugenheim Museum in NY. If Frank LW was reborn in this era he would have been shocked where the modernist movement has been taken by Pakistani architects. lol~!
But the good thing about the design is tht it would look alienated and blends well with the sadar atmosphere.

Anything is better then ugly old Gukkur plaza! Although I think this will be some ditance from it, its a nice change...
Modernist design is strange, I dont know why architects think they have to go so far beyond the classical to be modernist... Some creativity can do wonders in incorporating clasical and modern without being old..
Not to undermine this project, althoug I wish they had come up with something more original, I still dont mind seeing this structure in Pakistan which needs inovative architecture I think, particularly in Pindi.

Piling work had been completed. Excavation work was going on recently when i passed the site.

It is quite at distance from the Ghakar Plaza, but once developed, it will help to divert the traffic flow to other part of saddar too.

Any update on construction work? I was in Rawalpindi in April 2008 when the work was almost stopped or very slow. Anything going on at the site???
