This highway is always going underconstruction, one portion or the other. They have a vision to widen it from 4 lanes to 8 lanes. The maintainance work goes on and on. So leave it underconstruction.

A new Toll plaza is currently under construction on the Kashmir Highway near Sector G-13/G-14. I saw it the day I entered the city, they have a new toll plaza and office coming up with renders displayed by CDA. Unfortunately I wuz in the bus and traveling at night and ofcourse with no camera at that instance so was only able to see it.
Somebody better get hold of the construction pix and renders for us!
The old one near Golra More is going to be demolished soon!

Work on Kashmir Highway from next month
Staff Reporter
ISLAMABAD: Work on the expansion and rehabilitation of the Kashmir Highway will be initiated next month by the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
The project is expected to start in the third week of October that would incur almost double cost of Zero Point Interchange, said a senior CDA official Monday. He said the highway would be expanded and rehabilitated from Peshawar Morr to Golra Moer under the project, adding it was yet in tendering phase and the CDA had shortlisted eight firms. He said the project included rehabilitation and expansion of four existing bridges as the highway was going to be widened up to five lanes. The project will take two years to complete, he added.
After the completion of the project, he said, the federal capital would have two five-lane highways that was a unique feature as work on widening the Islamabad Highway was already in progress. The widening of Islamabad Highway would be completed by December this year, said the official, adding the highway would be made signal-free from Faizabad to Rawat.
The CDA official said the shortlisted companies had been directed to submit their bids within next 17 days. Some of the short-listed companies include firms already engaged in construction projects in the federal capital like M/s Habib Rafique, M/s Matracon and M/s Sachal Construction.
