For all students and ex-students of CJM, Karachi.

In addition to schooling the local Christian community, the Convent of Jesus & Mary, Karachi (along with it's affiliate schools in Lahore and Murree) has long been Pakistan's most elite all-girls' educational institution. CJM has traditionally been run by Irish nuns, and now in recent decades, local nuns as well. It has schooled a countless number of influential women, including Pakistan's first female Prime Minister, other leaders, social workers, activists, professionals, entrepreneurs, writers, entertainers, philanthropists, home-makers, and a countless number of women in the creative arts.

Graduating classes usually only comprise an average of about 30 girls. Traditionally, the majority of graduating students go on to complete their A'levels at the Lyceum School or the Karachi Grammar School, before going on to receive further education at some of the best universities, both in Pakistan and abroad.

ACES committee has been established, more updates pending.
The official aces email address is acescjm@hotmail.com, ACES has a newly elected Committee and we are working very hard to organize a fun event soon. We've been working very hard to contact all our members and update their contact information in order to involve as many ex-students as possible. Due to the unfortunate conditions in the city we could not pull off an event earlier but we need all of you to join us to make ACES a larger group of ex students!

got this from the net..

The Archdiocese of Karachi, originally known as the Diocese of Karachi was erected on 20 May 1948 under the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Bombay, India. It was elevated as the Archdiocese of Karachi on 15 July 1950. The seat of the Archdiocese is St. Patrick's Cathedral. In 2004 it was estimated to include 145,000 Catholics out of a population of 14 million. The Christ the King seminary, the major seminary of the country is located in the Archdiocese.

The Archdiocese has also produced a religious order for women known as the Franciscan Missionaries of Christ the King (FMCK) that founded schools, orphanages, homes for the aged and disabled and hospitals throughout the country and in India and Sri Lanka.
